Key Responsibilities:
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Home-Grown School Feeding Project Coordinator is responsible for strategic planning, coordination, monitoring and overseeing the overall implementation of the project.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
· Organize weekly meetings with project staff to evaluate previous week in term of success and weaknesses in order to plan efficiently the beginning week.
· Ensure of availability of Food distributions plans, Dispatch authorization plans before all dispatches on the field.
· Get in contact with the communities and / or local authorities (Head Masters of Schools) to ensure of their implication in the all activities and that they have information about planning distributions in their respective communes or areas.
· Ensure if Logistics equipments and enough staff prepared are available for each distribution which is planned.
· Ensure if receipt, delivery and distributions of food and NFI meet WVB and donors standards.
· Ensure if delivery from the Warehouse has been done safely according to the dispatch authorizations and that all quantities reached in good conditions at the field and distributed to the right beneficiaries.
· Make a follow up of all distributions, daily and weekly reports for the preparedness of the Monthly Report.
· Plan Monthly Meetings with other departments which link with the commodity department and ensure that all sectors can work in order to meet the same objective
· Ensure documentation of commodity and end use and regularly, timely submit each reports summarizing those movements.
· Facilitate and make a follow up of all staff under his responsibility, in all their activities so that their plans can meet the objectives of satisfaction of beneficiaries.
· Verify physical inventory for all warehouses to ensure that food and non-food commodity book balances match the actual stock in the warehouses.
· Ensure that warehouses are well-maintained and meet basic safety regulations and that adequate steps are taken and adequate facilities are available to offload commodities in a timely and orderly manner
· Provide trainings to staff for effective and efficient system operation at field level.
· Ensure proper handling and reporting of cut/torn bags and losses/damages, and disposal of unfit commodities.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Abilities
(The following knowledge, skills, and abilities may be acquired through a combination of formal schooling, self-education, prior experience, or on-the-job training.)
Strong knowledge of:
· Food assistance policies and WFP standards.
· Local procurement of commodities & logistics operations, specifically those that relate to food distributions, warehousing, reporting tracking and monitoring.
· Community mobilization and participatory approaches.
· Monitoring, evaluation, and reporting tools.
· Skills in project cycle management, budget oversight, and coordination.
· Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel would be an advantage.
· Minimum understanding of nutrition programming in Burundi.
· Candidates should also be willing to live and work in area of project implementation.
· A mature Christian who shows a desire to serve humanity and to strengthen his/her relationship with the Lord.
· Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Rural Economy, Food Security, Community development or any other relevant field.
Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in:
Work Environment
· Work environment: Office-based with frequent travel to the field
· Travel: 20% Domestic/international travel is required.
· On call: 25%

Historique
World Vision travaille au Burundi depuis plus de cinq décennies.
Les équipes de World Vision ont commencé à travailler au Burundi en 1963. Leurs opérations se sont arrêtées vers la fin des années 1980 mais ont repris en 1993, en réponse aux besoins humanitaires pressants provoqués par les troubles civils généralisés. En 1995, ils ouvert leur bureau à Bujumbura.
Au cours des 30 dernières années, leur travail, qui consistait à fournir des secours d'urgence, est passé d'investir dans des programmes de développement à long terme.
Actuellement, leur personnel et leurs programmes apportent espoir et aide aux enfants et aux communautés à travers le pays grâce à un large éventail de projets intégrés et holistiques. Ils travaillent avec ceux qui sont les plus vulnérables - les pauvres et les opprimés - sans distinction de religion, de race, d’origine ethnique ou de sexe.
À ce jour, World Vision apporte espoir et assistance à plus de 1 000 000 enfants (dont plus de 40 000 sont des enfants parrainés) et à leurs communautés dans le cadre de 18 programmes de développement régional (ADP) chaque année.
